Patricia Pinheiro

Patricia graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Lisbon, Portugal, in 2019. She initially pursued a non-clinical role focused on consumer education in sustainability and public health. In 2021, she moved to the UK to undertake a rotating internship at a referral hospital, where she discovered her passion for internal medicine.

Following her internship, Patricia worked in small animal general practice, treating both dogs and cats—though she quickly realised she had a soft spot for cats. This led her to join a cat-only clinic, where she continued to grow her skills in feline medicine. In April 2025, Patricia joined the team at Animates to help launch the new Cat-Only building and work as a dedicated feline vet.

Patricia especially enjoys helping senior cats live more comfortable and happy lives. She’s interested in all areas of feline internal medicine, but has a particular love for gastroenterology. She hopes to pursue a certificate in feline medicine in the near future.

Outside of work, Patricia loves exploring the UK and keeping up with the latest sci-fi shows. Originally from the Azores, Portugal, she visits home whenever possible to spend time with her beloved calico cat and her chestnut mare.
