Verena Jackson

Verena graduated from the University of Veterinary Medicine and Pharmacy in Kosice, Slovakia in 2020 and joined Animates shortly afterwards. Her main interest is exotic animal medicine.

During her training she completed a Wildlife Medicine and Conservation Internship with the only wildlife vet in Belize, several exotics placements here in the UK and was a member of the university falconry club. Previously she completed wildlife conservation and captive animal behaviour modules as part of her BSc degree and has completed placements in a private zoo gaining hands on experience with a wide range of animals.

Verena is currently studying towards postgraduate certificates in Exotic Animal Practice and is available to see small mammals, reptiles and birds at our Thurlby branch.

In her spare time Verena enjoys travelling, hiking, reading and playing a range of musical instruments.
