Gill Sanders (Receptionist)
Gill moved from West London some years ago and settled in Market Deeping where she has lived since.
Gill's hobbies include gardening and she tries her hand at growing vegetables, occasional watercolour painting and some acrylics. Gill loves the theatre, dancing and 'trod the boards' as an amateur dramatic for a local group.
Gill joined animates in January 2009 as a part time receptionist. She previously worked as a dental nurse for 6 years with a practice in Stamford.

Rebecca Kuttel (Veterinarian)
Rebecca has been with Animates Veterinary Clinic since opening in June 2005.
Rebecca studied veterinary medicine at Massey University in New Zealand and qualified in the year 2000. After graduating Rebecca started working in mixed rural practice in New Zealand before deciding to concentrate her energies on companion animals. Rebecca has worked in a number of different practices in New Zealand, Ireland and England.
Rebecca enjoys a range of different activities including travelling, diving, music and squash which she plays regularly.

Morwenna Hawkins (Veterinarian)
Morwenna joined the Animates team in June 2006. Morwenna (otherwise known as Mo) completed her veterinary degree at Massey University in New Zealand in 2000. Following 3 1/2 years of mixed practice in New Zealand she moved to the UK. Morwenna spent 2 years doing small animal Veterinary locum work based mainly in Cornwall and Leicestershire before opportunities arose at Animates.
Morwenna's interests include gardening, horse riding, reading and travelling when she gets the chance.

Vicky Lees (Veterinarian)
Vicky grew up on a farm in Toft with large animals. She qualified as a Veterinary Surgeon from Edinburgh University in July 2007. Before she started her Veterinary Degree she also gained a BSc in Anatomy and Physiology.
Vicky joined Animates in July 2007 as a full time vet increasing the veterinary team from 2 to 3.
Vicky has 2 dogs, chickens, 2 ponies, and 2 Bearded Dragons. She enjoys walking her dogs, riding, golf and travelling.

Rosalie Niemeijer (Veterinarian)
Rosalie (better known as Rosie) joined the practice in April 2009. She is originally from Holland, completed her Veterinary training in Ghent, Belgium and qualified in July 2005.
After working briefly in mixed and small animal practices in the Netherlands, Rosie moved to the UK, where she worked in a mixed practice in Durham and a small animal practice in Lincolnshire, before moving to Animates.
Rosie has a Rhodesian Ridgeback and three cats. Her interests include walking her dog, reading, fossil hunting and charity work.

Jen Tavernor (Veterinarian)
Jen joined animates in January 2010. She has always wanted to be a small animal Veterinary Surgeon and graduated from Cambridge Vet School in July 2009.
In her spare time Jen enjoys keeping fit, nature photography, walking, yoga, learning the piano and travelling. Jen has 2 cats - Jasper and Oliver.

Sara Dench (Qualified Veterinary Nurse, A1 Assessor)
Sara returned to a career in Veterinary nursing in 2004 after working for the Royal Mail for 11 years. She studied from September 2005 for 2 years and gained her Veterinary Nurse qualification in September 2007. She has worked in various practices in and around Peterborough and joined Animates in July 2007.
Sara enjoys looking after her two mad Jack Russell Terriers, George and Molly, as well as her diabetic dog Barney as well as 2 cats and 2 rabbits.
Her interests include mountain biking, watching motorsport, birdwatching, badminton and going to the theatre.

Kelly Matthews (Qualified Veterinary Nurse)
Kelly grew up on a farm on the outskirts of Lincoln looking after a number of farm animals, as well as her own pets. She moved to the village of Northorpe in 2004 to live with her fiancé Adrian on his arable farm.
Kelly has been working in Veterinary practices since 2002, and with us since October 2005. This was after studying at colleges for a Diploma in Animal Care, then going on to achieve an NVQ level 3 in Animal Care. Kelly started her Veterinary Nurse training with us in January 2007 and gained her professional qualification in April 2009.
Kelly enjoys looking after her three cats - Puddy, Tat and Alfie. She also enjoys cycling, horse riding, listening to music, watching movies and going to car shows.

Sarah Mainwaring (Qualified Veterinary Nurse)
Sarah qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in 1992. She has a keen interest in surgical nursing, inpatient care and dentistry. Sarah has completed the BVNA course on canine and feline behaviour.
She currently works at Animates part-time and lives with a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, 2 cats, 2 tortoises, 2 children and 1 husband.
In her spare time Sarah enjoys aerobics, gardening, cycling and listening to music.

Kirsty Smith (Qualified Veterinary Nurse)
Kirsty grew up and went to school in the local area.
Kirsty joined the practice in November 2008 having previously worked in local practices since 2003. Kirsty completed her nurse training in 2009 and is now a Qualified Veterinary Nurse, however Kirsty enjoys learning and is always going to various courses.
Kirsty has a pet doberman 'Bob' and enjoys walking him, cycling and horse riding in her spare time.

Lauren Wiggins (Student Veterinary Nurse)
Lauren Joined the Animates team in February 2008 as a receptionist. In January 2009 she left reception and began her Veterinary Nursing training at the College of Animal Welfare.
Lauren has always had a keen interest in working with animals, spending much of her free time at veterinary practices in the local area doing voluntary work to gain experience. Lauren will be starting her Veterinary Nurse training at the College of Animal Welfare in January 2009 and will gain her qualification at the end of 2010.
Lauren has lived in Deeping all her life but has recently moved to Morton with her fiance, 3 dogs - Jenna, Choccy and Bramble. She also has 2 rabbits and tortoise! Her other interests include taking her dog on long walks, swimming, deep sea diving, travelling and going to the theatre.

Clare Woods (Qualified Veterinary Nurse)
Clare qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in 1994 and has worked in many practices throughout the country. Clare started working at Animates in April 2007 and is working part time.
Clare has now settled in Baston with her husband Andy and her two young children, Penny and Ferris. She also has a cat called Murphy who has 26 toes.
She enjoys spending time with her family and playing tennis, aerobics and reading.

Annabelle Gharibi (Trainee Veterinary Nurse)
Annabelle joined animates in September 2009 to begin her career as a Trainee Veterinary Nurse after wanting to work with animals for a very long time. Annabelle grew up and studied in West London. After finishing her A levels in 2008 she moved to Nassington to be with her long-distance partner of 4 years. They now live in Bourne with their 3 Gerbils, Hamster, and their rescue dog.
In her spare time Annabelle enjoys gardening, going out and listening to live music. She also enjoys cooking and watching motor-cross.

Jason Mann (Trainee Veterinary Nurse)
Jason joined animates in September 2009. He has always wanted to work with animals. Jason went to the University of Lincoln to do a First Diploma in animal care and a National Diploma in animal management. Jason then worked for the RSPCA at Eastwinch wildlife centre for 2 years until 2009.
In his spare time Jason volunteers for the Exotic Pet Refuge and has done fot the past 10 years. He has recently started working with Bats and volunteers doing Bat surveys for the Cambridgeshire Bat Group and the Bat Conservation Trust.
Jason has 2 cats - Canosa and Weila. He enjoys playing the guitar, listening to music and doing voluntary work.

Frances Hathaway (Trainee Veterinary Nurse)
Frances has always loved being around animals of all kinds. She was brought up in Bushey, Hertfordshire but has lived in several counties. When living in Cambridgeshire Frances ran an animnal sanctuary which provided a home for rescued, injured or unwanted animals; amongst these were cats, dogs, rabbits, ducks, turkeys and pigs.
After running the sanctuary for 8 years Frances decided that she wanted to continue within the animal profession, this is when she decided to try and obtain a trainee nursing placement. To gain practice experience she travelled to Thailand to volunteer in an animal clinic for 6 months where they treated stray cats and dogs. Frances returned to the UK in March 2010.
In her spare time she enjoys keeping fit by abseiling, cycling, running, going to the theatre, charity work and travelling.

Jeannie Willson (Nursing Assistant)
Jeannie started at Animates in June 2005 when the practice opened and worked as a Veterinary Nurse. Jeannie left the practice after 2 years as she and her husband set up their own business which required her full attention, this is now up and running and she has returned part time as a Nursing Assistant.
Jeannie also practices Reiki, has 1 cat called Charlie, enjoys reading and spending time with her family.

Tony Protheroe (Maintenance Man)
Tony joined the Ambulance service in 1987, and he qualified as a paramedic in 1991. His best moments were when he delivered 5 babies during his 19 years of service. Tony retired from the service in 2006. He has now joined Animates part time to take care of all the maintenance and odd-jobs around the place.
